How to prepare for your appointment

Lip Blushing and Lip Neutralization


2 weeks before

Avoid tanning and tanning beds, skin that has experienced excessive sun exposure is in a state of recovery and therefore cannot be tattooed!

Stop applying AHA'S, BHA'S, and retinoids in the area to be tattooed, as it temporarily thins the skin.

1 week before

Stop taking fish oils or omega supplements, vitamin C, magnesium supplements or any other supplements that can thin the blood.

Gently EXFOLIATE your lips every other day starting using an organic, sugar-based lip scrub.

Moisturize your lips daily using a fragrance-free lip balm or coconut-oil.

Drink plenty of water and eat lots of veggies and fruit packed with natural antioxidants to promote hydration from within.

Discontinue using matte lipsticks, lip stains or any drying lip products that contain alcohol.

24 hours before

Do not consume any alcohol 24 hours before the appointment

Do not consume any caffeine 24 hours before the appointment. This includes coffee, tea, chocolate, coca-cola, and even ‘decaf’ coffee.

Avoid anti-inflammatories or any other medication that thins the blood, this is including but not limited to Aspirin, Advil or Ibuprofen (Tylenol is okay!)

Please Note

If you are prone to cold sores or have had cold sores at least once in your life, you will need to take an anti-viral medication such as Valtrex upon consulting your family doctor.
